Now live & online is the finished ‘Get Set For Summer‘ Website. Put together to support this Summer holidays activities weeks (For our Feeder Primaries) it’s been designed from the ground up to work on mobile & tablet devices. By the look of the events I wish I was still at Primary School!

Frog OS – First Peek

Frog OS
Have been using the Frog OS Sandbox this week checking out the new version that will be coming our way later in the year. The obvious big benefits are it’s ability to work & create content on virtually all devices & I’m looking forward to being able to build a Homework Hunter interface as soon as we get our hands on it.
Students will love the themeing facility, allowing them to skin it with a whole range of designs & I suspect an even higher higher proportion of Staff will like the increased ease of use in the resource design & build tools.
An exciting development whichever way you look at it.
No access to the admin interface as yet but again I’m hoping that will be as nice to use as the Sandbox.
Well played Frog, ahead of the pack again.

GSFS Website Takes Shape
First came the brochure now comes the website! I’m enjoying working with a very contemporary flat design theme. Also pretty happy with the centered <Div> layout, Google web fonts & tablet happy layout.
Nice to work on such a creative project. Just waiting to cram it full of info now.
BCO Homepage Gets A Spring Facelift
Just uploaded the new look BCO Homepage with it’s revised navigation based on user feedback. As mentioned in the previous post the redesign has come about in response to the changing needs of site visitors.
Hope you like it. View it in action.
Retro Fun Points In The Right Direction
With the increasing number of online resource options available to our students I’ve just sprung cleaned the old ‘Auto-Forwarding’ page over at www.bideford.devon.sch.uk/students
(When I get time I’ll make each HHC a bit more interactive as I originally wanted, but they’ll have to wait a bit longer for that pleasure)
But for now they simply get a choice of where to go!
An extra 10 points for remembering what the tune is. Check it
Creative Futures
Just completed a complete overhaul of the Art Department’s ‘Creative Futures’ feature. It’s an interactive resource that looks at possible career choices for students who study Art @ GCSE or A Level.
The testimonies are from past students and clearly illustrate the many different career & Uni’ course routes individuals have taken after doing Art.
New ‘College Lettings’ Area
About to go live this week (once it get the final nod) is a new section of the main web site relating to the letting of College facilities.
Working in partnership with the Lettings organisers the development of this new new frog powered portion of BCO contains all the info potential users need as well as online forms for basic contact & applications for use that writes to a backend database.
Part 1 of the Techie Support Rebuild Project

It’s a fairly innocuous start but the new Music, Media & AV Support page is the 1st part of a near total rebuild of our online Technicians Support Request system or “575″ as it’s known. The core database stays the same but the user interfaces are next to be redesigned to take into account changing needs. Staff won’t see much difference to the presentation of the system but the ‘back-office’ GUI will be completely different. Part 2 of this development coming soon.
