Yup we are back! Starting after 1/2 Term we will be making Balance Boards again. The weekly sessions will run on Thursdays after school in room D2.2.

Board stupid? … Not our students! Better than a Playstation or an XBox. Our students are developing their riding skills. Cross steps, cheater fives and spins are being practiced at home.
Tonight saw the end of the project and students were given instruction in riding a Balance Board by Equilibrium Guru Mr Quinn!

With individual tuition from Mr Pyle, Mr Kelly, Mr Knowler and myself all board riders managed the required 20 seconds to be awarded their project certificate and take their Balance Board home to continue riding.

We are all off on our summer holidays now! But please check back in September when there will be more Board Madness from the STEMNET crew. As well as offering more students the chance to build skateboards and balance boards we will also be organising riding competitions next term.

Over the course of 4 to 5 weeks during a once a week, 1 hour long, after school session you will make a ‘Balance Board’.
These are brilliant for developing excellent balance & co-ordination & a great alternative when it’s raining outside or the surf is flat.
Many pro surfers & skaters alike use them as part of their training regimes. There will be a small cost to cover materials.
