End Of Term Roundup

Sports Days
Dodging the rain, we managed this year to stage both Sports Days which were highly successful.
Form winners were :- 7S1, 8E2, 9S1, 10S3
Individual champions were:
Year 7: Laura Butler, Paul Scott
Year 8: Anela Butler, Luke Hasted, Becky Jewell, Dennis Cromey-Hawke
Year 10 Catherine Cory, Sam Martin
Thank you to Hockings Ice Cream who, having attended both days, donated £80.
Tennis
20 students from years 7-9 took part in the Tarka Tennis Tournament. They were very impressive in play, behaviour and etiquette. Bradley Dobson and Matt Johson reached the Year 7/8 boys final, narrowly losing to a pair from Torrington in an excellent match.
Dance
On Thursday 10th July the staff and students of Bideford College were treated to an unforgettable dance performance by the Essex Dance Company.
The Year 7& 9 students and several staff were left totally spellbound as the dancers performed each of their arrangements with total professionalism. After 1 hour of music and dance everyone was left feeling that they could have watched much more.
The lucky 50 who had enrolled on the post show workshop managed to learn a small section of the opening routine and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We hope to do this again next year.
Year 10 PE September
10 S/W PE starts on the first day back in September. They will need their kit as they start their first activity on that day. Those taking surfing have received a letter. They must remember a swimming costume and towel and very importantly, their completed permission slip and payment.
Rounders
Although the final results have yet to be collated we
know the Year 9 & 10 rounders teams have won the North Devon Rounders league.
Athletics
The following students were selected to represent North Devon at County Championships
Josie Simmons, Kirsty Talbot. Leanne Fay, Amy Elphick, Dennnis Cromey-Hawke, Tom Farnell, Luke Hasted, Tom Barton, Andrew Spencer, Sam Martin, Leanne Glover
Golf
Congratulations to Adam Crouch (Yr 11) Ben Keen (Yr 10), Ollie Tanton (Yr 9), Jimmy Mullen (Yr 9) have been selected by the Devon County Junior Golf Society to represent Devon in a match at Exeter in August. We wish them all the best of luck.
