Devon Schools’ Athletics – 2 County Champions

At the Devon Schools’ athletics trials and championships in Exeter Arena, our 7 inter(Year 10/11) athletes and 1 junior girl performed really well despite it being a cold damp and very windy day which made it hard to record personal bests. Dani Jewell picked up the medal for winning the 3000m and Ebony Webber extended her school record in the long jump with 4.52m to win and take the medal. Dani and Ebony have therefore qualified to represent the Devon team at the South West Schools’ championships.
Alex Vizor came 5th in the high jump, Cassie Chanin finished 5th in the shot and 7th in the javelin, Lola Colvin came 8th in the junior girls javelin, Ebony came 4th in the 200m, Rowan Chanin and Ashley Payne both made it to the 100m final and it finished with Rowan 3rd and Ashley 6th and James Fay ran to 4th in the 3000m.
We are looking forward to seeing them perform in our sports days! Well done!
